Travel story: 48 hours in Vientiane, Laos

Travel story: 48 hours in Vientiane, Laos

It was great to write this travel article on Vientiane for the popular Asian travel magazine, DestinAsian.

It's my first article for DestinAsian and I enjoyed sharing an insider perspective of all my favourite cafes, restaurants and things to do. These included the awe-inspiring COPE, the colourful Si Muang temple, and several popular Vientiane coffee spots.

I've had a chance to explore and write about most of these places on my blog, Eat Drink Laos.

The signature photo was provided by Do Ka Noi (and photographer Mick Shippen). It is of stuffed frog with pork and herbs. I confess I haven't tried it myself; I feel noi nuang (a little) squeamish about gop (frog). Though I do love the authentic Lao cuisine at DKN and take all my visitors there.

So, if you happen to passing through Laos, stop in for a day or two or five to Vientiane. It's a special place. And now you'll know why.
